Carpet Cleaning

Before We Arrive

We ask that you please clean up any items that are loose like toys, shoes, etc.

If you have pets, we recommend that you keep them somewhere they will be comfortable. Not all of our furry friends like the sound of vacuums or unfamiliar people in their space. Let us know how you'd like to handle your pet ahead of time to keep them safe and happy.

What If I Have A Special Request?

Please discuss this with our technician prior to your appointment. We do our very best to accommodate everyone and want to ensure your expectations are taken into consideration. Please contact us at 971-402-4244.

Pre-Inspection & Measuring

Before any cleaning starts, a technician will inspect the carpeted areas. This involves checking carpet fiber type (synthetic vs wool/natural), pile height/density, padding, visible wear, stains, and high-traffic zones. Some carpets or fibers require special care; pre-inspection helps avoid damage and preserve warranties.

Along with inspection, we will measure the area to be cleaned and provide you with the price to properly clean your carpet.

Vacuuming

A pre-vacuum may be done to remove as much loose debris as possible. This helps prevent the soil from becoming sticky when mixed with the cleaning solution and provides a deeper, more efficient cleaning of your carpet.

Pre-treatment, Spot & Stain treatment

For stubborn stains or problem spots, the technician may treat them individually. That could mean applying a specialized stain remover or cleaner, allowing it to dwell for a time (often 10–15 minutes, depending on the stain and product), and agitating the spot lightly to lift the stain before the main cleaning.

Once the stains are treated, a pre-spray is applied to the carpet. This cleaning agent helps emulsify or loosen stuck-on soils, sticky residues, or oily grime embedded in the carpet fibers.

Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning)

Our truck-mount machine heats water and injects the hot water and cleaning solution into the carpet fibers. The combination of heat, water, and cleaner helps dissolve and loosen embedded soil, dirt, allergens, oils, pet dander, and residues.

At the same time, a powerful vacuum (integrated into the truck-mount system) extracts that water, the dissolved soil and cleaning solution. This strong suction is a hallmark of truck-mount systems, and is often what makes them more effective and thorough than portable/rental machines.

For deeply soiled carpets or carpets in heavy-traffic areas (entryways, hallways, living rooms), often more than one pass is used. Sometimes this includes a rinse pass with just water after the cleaning solution pass. This helps to thoroughly flush out soil and cleaning agents. Sometimes a “dry-extraction” pass is performed to remove as much residual moisture as possible.

After the extraction, the carpet may be groomed or “pile-lifted” (with special brushes) so the fibers stand up straight and look uniform. This helps restore the appearance and feel of the carpet.

After The Cleaning

Plan on keeping foot traffic off the cleaned carpets for at least 6–12 hours, ideally up to 24 hours (especially in winter). If the carpet is old, thick, has heavy padding, or if you had heavy soiling/drinking stains/pets drying may take longer.

Ventilation helps a lot: Open windows (if weather allows and not while raining), run fans, ceiling fans, or HVAC (AC in summer, heat in winter) to promote airflow and speed drying.

If possible, place fans or use a  dehumidifier if humidity is high. This significantly reduces drying time and reduces risk of odor or mildew. If you are in need of a dehumidifier, we can provide that for an additional fee.
